The department of Urology was established in 1997. The staff of 15 urologists has gained good reputation in patients and colleges for professional practice and good services， servicing patients from Xiamen and other regions.

      The Department is equipped with advanced facilities and equipments. Laparoscopic and endoscopic minimally invasive surgery is the direction of our department. Many laparoscopic surgeries were performed routinely，including radical nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, radical cystectomy and radical prostatectomy. In the field of Andrology, the novel regular application regime of nocturnal penile tumescence, color Doppler Duplex ultrasonography and vacuum erection device for the diagnosis and treatment of erectile dysfunction resulted in satisfactory results. Microscopic surgery was widely performed in obstructive azoospermia and varicocele. The department has gained and accomplished many funds of various levels. More than 50 research papers have been published. Our department gained the right of conferring master’s degree of Xiamen University and Fujian Medical University, having cultivated many students.
