Vascular surgery department of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Xiamen University was established in 2007.It is the first independent vascular surgery department in Fujian Province. So far, there are 1 director,1 vice-director,2 attending doctors,4 residen doctors and several kind-hearted nurses in the medical group.

The most unique technique of the department is minimally invasive technique, which gives full play to the advantages of vascular surgeon, who master interventional technique, microsurgical procedures and endoscopic technique simultaneously. They strive to reduce trauma and improve the curative effect. The diagnosis and management cover most diseases of the vascular system, or arteries, veins and lymphatic except those of the heart and brain.

We are dedicated to the highest level of patient care, professional education and clinical research.”Huang Xiaojin, MD, Department chief of the vascular surgery says. Under his leadership, the department carry out series of new technologies and projects these years, including laser closure, sclerotherapy, radio frequency ablation and so on that apply to chronic venous insufficiency. As reward, they have the honor to win “City VDM Center Demonstration Base”, only 50 hospitals for awarding in our country. Another great progress is succeeding in treating the aneurysm of the aortic arch with pre-fenestration stent. It fills the gap in Xiamen and Fujian. Meanwhile, the case is widely reported by media.

By the end of 2016, the department has published 64 academic papers, including one collected by SCI. They obtain one item of National Natural Science Fund, one research project of Xiamen science and Technology Bureau, and 9 utility patents.

They are distinguished. They represent the highest medical level in vascular surgery area. At the same time, they are welcomed by patients, and they enjoy a good reputation.
