Clinical Nutrition

The Department of Clinical Nutrition of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated Xiamen University is a medical department under the leadership of the Chief of Operation and was established in 1995. The department is a multidisciplinary team consisting of one physician director, one physician, one dietitian,two nutrition chefs and two pantrymen. Team members work collaboratively on outpatient consultations and medical nutrition therapy.

The department provides daily rounds, nutrition assessment and screening, intervention, consultations, enternal and parenternal nutrition supports to inpatients, at the same time, supervises the hospital kitchen to ensure quality nutritional and therapeutic meals.

The department offers outpatient nutrition cousaltations including diet advice and management of gestational diabetes, overweight and obese, cardiovascular disease, and other health conditions. Moreover, nutrition advocacy is not only provided to our patients, but also to their family members, caregivers, our hospital staffs, students, and the public to improve their nutrition awareness and knowledge.

Our physicians and dietitians are experienced through many years of practices; moreover, they have continuously engaged for advanced nutrition studies innumerous famous hospitals in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou since the establishment of the department. In addition, our department also involves in nutrition teaching and conducts scientific research collaborations with other departments. Thus, make us into a standardized department with a collection of medical, teaching, and scientific researches.
